Sea Creatures

There are so many plates out there with all types of sea creatures that you'll never have the same look twice. It is a very busy mani but I just love all the colors and the gradient is my favorite.

My base gradient is made up of Essie's St. Tropez and Zoya's Harbor. I am a little rusty when it comes to gradients but I will just keep practicing.

The white waves are from BM-509 with Mo You White Knight. On my thumb the jellyfish is stamped from UberChic Beach Please with Mo You August Plum and Pink Wednesday. Narwal on pointer is from UberChic mini nautical with Black Knight. Sea Horse is August Plum from Beach Please. Hammerhead shark is from mini nautical again with Black Knight. The sea turtle is from Mo You Princess 04 with Painted Polish Stamped in Greenery.

Shark Fin Nails

I won't say a lot about these but I just had to share my nails for Shark Week. Everyone is doing the same look with a open mouth shark. I kind of wanted to do something a little dark and not the norm.
When I googled shark fins I came across a few photos where it had just the fin visible with a nighttime background. Instantly I knew it was something I wanted to try.
My sharks are the white tipped sharks. I like how they have this white little cap on top of their fin. The great white will forever be my favorite thanks to Jaws but for the sake of this look I wanted to do a lesser known shark.
Each nail shows less and less fin, it is supposed to look like the shark is submerging underwater. The look didn't quite turn out how I had imagined in my head but it is pretty darn close considering this was my first attempt.

It is hard to explain what I did to achieve this look. I went back and forth with Color Club's Bell Bottom Babe and Opi's Eurso Euro with a sponge to get this night sky/water look. The rest was all acrylic paint. Once done I added a regular topcoat to seal in everything but I decided it would look better matte.

Polishes used: Duri Rejuvacote, Opi Eurso Euro, and Color Club Bell Bottom Babe as base colors
Top coats: Inm Out the Door and Essie Matte About You

Hope you all are having a wonderful day

Under the Sea

I love this little guy
So while practice stamping my new plates from Mo-You London I came across a fish that I knew I just had to do. He looks like Gil from Finding Nemo. I have watched that movie over a hundred times thanks to my daughter. I wanted to make my background look like moving water so I used the saran wrap method to get my desired look. I used two colors from China Glaze, shower together and man hunt. They are not a full on creams more like a crelly. I put down one coat of shower together then sponged on one coat of man hunt. I went back in with shower together on top to give that moving appearance. I stamped using my usual Konad white polish.

I am head over heels for this mani. I feel like a walking aquarium. There will be plenty more manis with these stamping plates for sure. Maybe next time I will do all the Finding Nemo characters.
