Summertime Gradient

I have been really loving the colors from the China Glaze City Flourish Collection. I have used all of them in several manis lately. Today I really wanted to try another gradient. I just knew that Grass is Lime Greener and At Vase Value would be magical together. I was not disappointed. I did lay down a base color of white. I can not remember which one I used but it most likely was Opi's Alpine Snow.
I went in with my makeup sponge and amazingly enough I only had to go over twice to get the opacity that I wanted. After looking at my nails I decided that they needed something else so I broke out the stamping plates.
I didn't want anything that would really take the focus away from the colors. I went with a very simple palm tree in black as accent nails.
Colors used: China Glaze At Vase Value and Grass is Lime Greener
Stamping plate: Winstonia plate in W106 with Konad Black Stamping Polish
Top coat: Glisten and Glow HK Girl Topcoat
I just love how bright this is. I actually got asked by a woman while I was out shopping if these were stickers. I was so proud to say that I did them myself.

Sponging and Stamping

I have been looking at my Winstonia plate #W111 and trying to decide how I wanted to paint the background for it. I finally decided to do a pastel type watercolor mani. I didn't feel like breaking out the plastic wrap so I just used cut up sponges to layer the colors. I put down a base color of Opi's Alpine snow because I really wanted the colors to pop. I used all China Glaze polishes. They are Lotus begin, What a pansy, At vase value, and Bahamian escape. I just would sponge on one color at a time and then at the end I went back in with the base color of Bahamian escape to even it out. I stamped with Konad's white special polish. As per usual I used my favorite Glisten and Glow HK Girl topcoat.

Poptastic Collection 2014

My order of the new Color Club Poptastic Collection 2014 came in today and of coarse I couldn't wait to play with them. There are 6 new colors to this bright collection. They all have an iridescent shimmer to them. Without a white base underneath they are a bit on the sheer side, but can be built up. First up is Not-So-Mellow-Yellow which is this fluorescent yellow that has a hint of green in it. Next is Foxy Mama, a highlighter orange color. There are two pinks in this collection. First one is Peace, Love, and Polish which is more of a bubble gum pink color. Kapow! is more of a strawberry pink shade. Right on is more of a bright violet shade. Lastly Bell Bottom Babe is a denim shade and also my favorite right now.

Soft Nautical Nails

So for day 28 of the Nail art May challenge the theme is nautical. I actually decided to be a little early doing these as today is memorial day as well. I didn't want to do the traditional colors seeing as I hate red nail polish. It's such a pain to remove. So I used Color Club's Look, Don't Tusk as my base color and the blue is their In De-Nile while the pink is Je'Aime. Whole thing is finished off with Glisten & Glow Hk Girl topcoat.
