Dry Brush Roses for Valentine's

Two coats of Color Club's Feathered Hair Out To There as my base color,
I used the dry brush method with Morgan Taylor's Po-Riwinkle, Kung Fu-Chisa, and Warriors Don't Wine from their new Kung Fu Panda 3 collection,
once dry I used plate BM-H16 with Mundo de Unas black to stamp on the roses,
Glisten and Glow's Hk Girl topcoat sealed it in and gave it a glossy finish.

Rainbow Roses

Ever spend so much time on a nail design that your eyes start to cross? This was it for me. I really wanted to have this neon rose look. I am head over heels in love with how they turned out. So much better than I had imagined in my head. So I'd say that were worth the headache.

To save myself some time I stamped all of the roses first. They are from plate BP30 from Born Pretty Store. I stamped them with Klean Color Black. While the black was drying I went in and painted two coats of Honeydew by Fresh Paint. You can Fresh Paint at Five Below. I was really surprised at how well this polish applied. It was patchy the first coat but evened out on the second just time.

All of the colors I used for the roses are from Color Club. The pink is Peace, Love, & Polish. The orange is Foxy Mama. The yellow is Not-So-Mellow Yellow. What a Shock is the name of the green. The only non shimmer polish is the blue which is Chelsea Girl. Last but not least is the purple called Ultra Violet. Because of them being neon I went over the top of the colors I filled in with Essie Blanc which is just a white. It really helps them stand out when applied over the green.
I wanted the roses to fully dry before I applied them because I was worried the colors would smear with top coat so I just set them off to the side while I went in and stamped with Mundo de Unas #55 Orchid and Mo-You London plate Tourist 21. It is a bit hard to see but the stamp says Ooh lala. It is from their Paris themed plate. Because I had let the roses dry to get them to stick to my nail I just went in with a thin coat of Glisten & Glow Hk Girl Top coat. It gives the stamp something to adhere to.

I used two coats of Seche Vite to help seal in the design. I used two coats because I felt like the roses were raised a bit high. I don't want them to hang on anything.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Cath Kidston Nails

I have seen so many recreations (Alice and Sammy just to name a few) of these nails that I knew I had to try them. I definitely drew more inspiration from Sammy though with the way she had hers laid out. I will admit I really did struggle with these. Way more than I should have I'm sure. I ended up having to go with acrylics for the design because my polishes just kept going goopy on me.
I painted the blue first and went in with white acrylic paint to first do the base for the flowers. After doing the lighter pink I added the darker shade to contrast. Green leaves and the tiny dots finished the look off.
Polishes: Duri rejuvacote and China Glaze Bahamian Escape as base
Assorted acrylics for the design
Top Coat: INM Out the Door

Mother's Day Mani

I wanted to do something simple on my nails for Mother’s Day. I have been practicing my roses but I am a little ocd about it and feel like they are never good enough. Oh well. I used a base coat of Gelous before adding on two coats of Spring in my step. I have to say that the color was beautiful but the formula was a mess to work with. I had to use 3 coats to smooth it out completely and it chipped off within a day of wear. For the roses I used Color Club’s Pucci-licious, Warhol, and Twiggie for the leaves. I also used China Glaze’s Lotus Begin, White on White, and Peonies & Park Ave. I finished everything off two a coat of Glisten & Glo HK Girl Topcoat.
