Matte Whimsical Nails with Kb Shimmer I Wet My Plants

I ordered some new polishes from Kb Shimmer and I am head over heels in love. The three I purchased are all a crelly consistency. I plan to do a look with each polish. They are just too pretty to not to a separate post for each one.

For my first post I wanted to showcase I Wet My Plants. It is a dusty lavender base with purple, pink and silver hexagons, along with tiny pink and silver micro glitters. To get a fully opaque look I used three coats of polish. I applied a layer of Hk Girl Top Coat before stamping.
For the stamping I used this gorgeous metallic purple polish from Fingerpaints called Rock Hard Lilac. The design is from Mo-You London's Sailor 04 plate. Before applying Essie's Matte About You I did apply another layer of Hk Girl to avoid smearing you can sometimes get from matte top coats.

The Little Mermaid Themed Nails

Next up in my Disney Princess series is Ariel. The Little Mermaid is one of the first Disney movies I can remember watching and I still love it to this day. I pulled inspiration from her outfits and tail. I wanted the first three nails to almost be like going from the top of her hair to the bottom of her fins.
On my pointer finger I started out with two coats of Essie Double Breasted Jacket, I stamped with Color Club(Cc) Macaroon Swoon and plate BM 503. I felt like it still needed something else so I added dots of Essie Good as Gold. It made me think of her hair with starfish and jewels.
My middle finger is of coarse her sea shell bra. After I let two coats of Opi Samoan Sand I stamped plate BM 505 with Mundo de Unas #21 Purple. You can't do Ariel nails without having her sea shells.
For my ring finger I mixed both Mundo de Unas #5 Turquoise and #24 Aqua together on plate BM 502 over top of Orly Smoked Out to get the appearance of multicolored mermaid scales. I do wish I had maybe added a glitter over top of Smoked Out. My pinky is very simple. I wanted to do something to represent the white toga style dress she wears when she first gets legs. I used Opi Alpine Snow with Essie Good as Gold and plate BM 509.
I didn't get a great picture of my thumb but it represents Ursula. I started out with one coat of Orly Close Your Eyes and added a coat of their Fowl Play. I have been dying to use the tentacle image on BM 506 and figured what better time then when doing Ariel nails. I stamped the image using FingerPaints Rock Hard Lilac. Once all of my nails were dry I used Seche Vite to seal my design in.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Valentine's Day Tulips

For my first Valentine's Day mani of the year I wanted to do something that could also be just a pretty look on it's own. My new Pueen Buffet Leisure plates came in so I wanted a chance to use them as well.
For my pointer and ring finger I put down two coats of Color Club Je T'aime. I added two coats of Finger Paints Santa's Lil Topper on my ring finger as well.
My thumb and middle finger have two coats of Orly's Powder Puff. I used the tulips from Pueen plate 97. I stamped with Mundo de Unas #39 for the leaves and #55 for the blooms. I went in and filled in with Color Club's Warhol.
My pinkie is China Glaze's The Grass is Lime Greener. I love the color of this year but the formula is horrible. Even after three coats it is still a bit patchy.

I used Glisten & Glow Hk Girl to make the decals. I finished everything off with Seche Vite.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Stardust Blush Swatch

I have no idea what took me so long to try out FingerPaints polish but I am a total addict now. My local Sally's had a ton of different colors in their clearance bin so I figured I would give them a try and "Wow!" Stardust blush is this beautiful glitter polish that has fine light pink microglitters along with hot pink round glitter. I had the hardest time getting my camera to get an accurate photo. You can somewhat see the gold reflect this polish gives off. I will say that I used a coat of gellous and a coat of seche vite and you can still feel the glitter texture. I do prefer a smoother glitter because then you are less likely to snag it on something but the color makes it worth it. Two coats got me to the opacity I wanted.

I hope you all have a wonderful monday!

Enchanted Forest

I know that I just used this plate but I wanted to show a darker version. I like how it shows how the same image can give you totally different looks based on colors used. This to me makes me think of fairies and something magical.
Base color is Orly Fowlplay
Stamping plate is BM 407 with Finger Paints Rock Hard Lilac
Essie Matte About You as top coat

Macro of trees

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sweater Pattern Nails

I had this idea in my head of doing another sweater type of look, but I wanted it to be a bit different. I finally came up with sweater patterns. Every time I have gone shopping lately I end up seeing sweatshirts with just patterns. Why not apply that same concept to nails?

Base color is China Glaze New Birth
Mittens are stamping plate BM H03 with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, Purple trees are stamping plate GA 27 with Finger Paints Rock Hard Lilac, Snow flake is stamping plate BM H02 with Essie Aruba Blue, Gold trees are plate W120 with Essie Good as Gold, and Ornaments are plate BM H03 with Finger Paints All Dolled Up
Seche Vite as top coat

Macro of ornaments (my favorite)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

FingerPaints Gel Polish

Not too long ago I purchased my first gel starter set. The set is from gelish. I am still trying to get the hang of using it as it is a bit different than applying regular polish. My first few attempts I kept getting air bubbles that would pop once I cured leaving holes in my polish.
I wanted to show off this gorgeous blue by FingerPaints. The color is called Cool Blue Harmony. I have looking for a teal type of color as I didn't have one in my collection. The pay off was great. Two coats was all it took to reach opacity.
All photos were before I applied my moisturizer so please ignore my dry cuticles. I am working on getting them in better shape. The only down side I would say to the gel system is that the top coat is not really shiny. It is not completely matte but it doesn't have a high gloss sheen either. I am hoping to find a different top coat in the future.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
