Neon Stripes and Glitter

I got my order of China Glaze Electric Night polishes in today and I could not wait to play. As soon as I saw the glitter in other people's swatches I knew it would be the first thing I used. They are something completely different from this brand. I have never seen a neon glitter from them before and I am loving it.

I will apologize ahead of time for the amount of photos but I just really loved this one.
I used two coats of Orly French white as a base, two coats of China Glaze Let the beat drop(amazing glittery goodness), and applied a thick layer of Violet-vibes over the straight nail vinyls. I pulled the vinyls off immediately to keep the lines as crisp as possible. After I left it all sit for about 5 minutes I top coated with Seche Vite. I hope you all love these as much as I do.

I do have one bonus photo to show you because it was just too stinky cute not to.
This is my 3 year old daughter's hand. She picked the polish up and held it under the lightbox until I took a photo. I can definitely tell she is going to be into all things nails. I can't wait!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Soft Nautical Nails

So for day 28 of the Nail art May challenge the theme is nautical. I actually decided to be a little early doing these as today is memorial day as well. I didn't want to do the traditional colors seeing as I hate red nail polish. It's such a pain to remove. So I used Color Club's Look, Don't Tusk as my base color and the blue is their In De-Nile while the pink is Je'Aime. Whole thing is finished off with Glisten & Glow Hk Girl topcoat.

Chevron Tutorial with Nail Vinyls

I recently ordered a set of the chevrons from Nail Vinyls and I could not wait to try them out. I did have a problem with the first time I used on my nail. I am not sure if it was user error or possibly an issue with my base coat and color. I started out using Orly's Bonder Basecoat before adding on two coats of Color Club's Eternal Beauty which is this gorgeous purple holo polish.

Next I used tweezers to apply two of the vinyls to my ring finger.
I went in with Sally Hansen's Instadry in Grape Race with one thick coat and while the polish was still wet I removed the strips.

This was the results of my first attempt.

I next went on to my thumb and had much better results.I redid my ring finger after finishing my right hand. Once the polish was dry I went in with a generous coat of Glisten & Glow's HK Girl Topcoat to seal in my design. Overall I am really happy with how these came out. I like the subtle color variation between the holo polish and the grape race. I still need more practice with the vinyls but I think for my first try they came out pretty good.

All the polishes I used.
